    ​The assets of the largest 100 Saudi companies in 2018, which were issued annually by "Al-Iqtisadiah", reached 5.384 trillion riyals, compared to 5.063 trillion riyals, for the previous year 2017, registering a growth of 6.3 percent, equivalent to 320.36 billion riyals.​

    According to the monitoring unit of the reports in the "Al-Iqtisadiya" newspaper, based on the companies ’financial data, the main supporter of the growth of the assets of the top 100 Saudi companies was the growth of the assets of the Saudi Aramco Company, where the growth in the assets of" Aramco "contributed about 76%, of the growth of the total assets The largest 100 Saudi companies in 2018, compared to 2017. The Saudi Aramco topped the 100 companies, in terms of the volume of assets, with assets of 1.346 trillion riyals, constituting about 25 percent of the total assets of the largest 100 Saudi companies in 2018.

    The assets of Saudi Aramco grew by about 22.1 percent, equivalent to 243.62 billion riyals, during the year 2018, as the value of the company's assets at the end of 2017 was about 1.103 trillion riyals, and rose to 1.346 trillion riyals at the end of 2018.

    Came in second place, in terms of asset size, the Saudi Electricity Company, with assets worth 464.56 billion riyals by the end of 2018, compared to 445.76 billion riyals by the end of 2017 registered growth of 4.2 percent is equivalent to 18.8 billion riyals.

    The capital of Saudi Electricity Company is about 41.666 billion riyals, Saudi Aramco owns a share of 6.92 percent of the capital of Saudi Electricity Company.

    In the third place, the National Commercial Bank came, with assets worth 453.39 billion riyals, at the end of 2018 compared to 444.79 billion riyals, at the end of 2017, a growth of 1.9 percent, equivalent to 8.598 billion riyals.​

    In the fourth place, Al-Rajhi Bank came with assets worth 364.28 billion riyals at the end of 2018 compared to 343.12 billion riyals at the end of 2017, with a growth of 6.2 percent, equivalent to 21.16 billion riyals.

    Fifth, SABIC had assets worth 319.71 billion riyals at the end of 2018, compared to 321.61 billion riyals at the end of 2017, down 0.6 percent, or 1.9 billion riyals.​

    By distributing the assets of the largest 100 companies for the year 2018 to the sectors, it becomes clear that the 100 companies are distributed across 21 sectors, the largest of which came in terms of the size of the assets or the value of the “banks” sector at 2.267 trillion riyals, which constitutes about 42.1 percent of the total value of the assets of the largest 100 companies In 2018, amounting to about 5.384 trillion riyals, and the number of banks for this sector is 12 banks.

    Followed by the "oil and gas" sector, with assets worth 1.353 trillion riyals, which constitutes about 25.1 percent of the total assets of the largest 100 companies in 2018, and the number of companies in the sector is four companies, including Saudi Aramco, the largest company in terms of assets.

    Thus, the assets of the two former sectors, “Banks” and “Oil and Gas”, hold 67.2 percent of the total assets of the top 100 companies in 2018.
    Third, the "petrochemical" sector was dissolved, with assets amounting to 561.27 billion riyals, which constituted about 10.4 percent of the total assets of the largest 100 companies in 2018.​

    The fourth sector, “Energy” has assets of 500.81 billion riyals, and the number of its companies is two, including Saudi Electricity Company, the second-highest company in terms of asset value.
